A Little Perspective on Mortgage Rates

Let’s talk perspective for a second. In 1984, the average 30-year mortgage rate was 13.88%. Not a typo. Rates have always moved in cycles, and today’s mid-to-upper six percent range is actually much closer to historical norms than people realize. So if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a number that may not come back anytime soon, it might be time to shift the question from ‘when will rates drop’ to ‘what can I actually do right now.’ Today’s rates in the mid-to-upper six percent range aren’t the whole affordability story either. Home prices, down payment options, credit profile, and loan programs all play a role, and that’s exactly where I come in. My job isn’t to hand you a rate and wish you luck. It’s to dig through the numbers, explore every program available, and build a strategy that actually fits your life. If homeownership is the goal, let’s talk. I’ll work to find a way.
